Princes' Islands

The Princes' Islands are a remote area of Istanbul that is quaint, environmentally friendly and famous for its scenery.

Many travelers do not know that the islands are part of Istanbul and consider them a separate city. However, this is not the case, despite the fact that it takes more than an hour to sail to the Princes' Islands, they are considered an Istanbul district. The archipelago includes 9 islands, but not all of them are accessible to visit and not all of them are inhabited. Two islands are sparsely populated and uninteresting to tourists, three of the archipelago are completely uninhabited, and only 4 islands are popularized for tourist visits, and most of the population lives on them. These are the islands:
Buyukada
Burgazada
Kynalyada
Heybeliada

Due to the location of the islands far from the big city in the middle of the Sea of Marmara, the archipelago boasts good ecology: green areas, clean beaches and fresh air. In addition, people travel on the islands by bicycles or horse-drawn carriages, so the air is not polluted by modern technology in the form of cars or buses.

Hotels, shops, restaurants and cafes have been built on four large islands; there are no problems with transport - ferries to Istanbul and neighboring islands regularly depart from local piers. However, there are few jobs, all of them are mainly related to tourists, so Istanbul residents themselves willingly come to relax on the islands, but live in the active part of the metropolis.
