Cadastral value threshold for Turkish citizenship 2024

On the eve of 2024, we notified you of a message from the Turkish Migration Service about the upcoming increase in the threshold of the cadastral value of real estate in January, which gives the right to obtain citizenship of the Republic of Turkey. According to forecasts voiced in leading publications on construction and real estate, in 2024, real estate purchased by a foreign citizen for the purpose of obtaining Turkish citizenship must be assessed by an expert and have a cadastral value indicated in the TAPU (certificate of ownership) of no less than 600 $000, and some sources indicated up to $750,000. However, in 2024, no action was taken to implement the announced plans and currently the cadastral value of acquired real estate for obtaining Turkish citizenship remains at the level of 2022 - 400,000 US dollars.

A little history of changes in value. Initially, the threshold in the simplified program for obtaining Turkish citizenship by investment was $1,000,000.
However, in September 2018, it was decided to reduce it to $250,000.
and on June 13, 2022, the cost was raised to $400,000.

At the moment, the cadastral value threshold for Turkish citizenship is still the equivalent of $400,000. However, if you are planning to apply for Turkish citizenship, then do not delay in implementing your decision, because in light of rapidly changing developments in Turkish law, the bar for a Golden Passport may be raised again.
