Konakli

Konakli is a calm, green area of the city of Alanya, Antalya province, suitable for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and everyday life, who want to enjoy life surrounded by magnificent nature by the warm, gentle sea. The majestic Taurus Mountains, covered with pine forests, provide open spaces with clean air filled with the aromas of pine needles and greenery, and orange plantations add citrus notes.
The climate here is mild, the temperature at sea in summer does not drop below +17 C, and the air heats up to 29 - 32 C. In winter, the thermometer almost never drops below +15 C. The swimming season begins in June and ends in September, although tourists who are not spoiled by the warm climate swim here all year round. The coast is wide, along its entire length there are beaches: umbrellas, sun loungers, awnings, changing cabins, showers, toilets, places for selling drinks, fresh fruit, and souvenirs. The beaches here are small pebbles, in some places there are stone slabs, the water is clean, transparent to the bottom due to the absence of sand. The presence of a blue flag confirms the cleanliness and environmental safety of Konakli beaches. Right by the sea, there are hotels with large areas offering an “all inclusive” system. Most of them are family-run and allow you to relax with children with maximum comfort.
The city's population is small, only 30 thousand people live here, mostly employed in tourism and agriculture. However, the city has all the necessary social infrastructure: two hospitals, a clinic, banks, kindergartens and schools, shops, hotels, a post office, many authentic cafes, etc. The area is developing rapidly and becoming more beautiful and comfortable every year. For active tourists there is everything necessary for leisure. You can go diving, water sports (motorcycles, skis, banana boats), play golf, go for a walk on the sea or ride along the promenade on the bike path. In the evenings, discos and bars are open in Konakli. For children, the resort also offers a lot of entertainment in the areas closest to Konakli: an amusement park with a lot of attractions, the Water Planet water park - the largest in Alanya, with 24 attractions, a bungee jump and a wave pool, a large interactive aquarium "Sealanya" with unique marine performances artists in the dolphinarium, a tropical river with rafting and a windsurfing pool.
Konakli district, although small, contains several remarkable places. In its very heart, on a high hill, there is a picturesque recreation park “Altinoglu” with fountains, gazebos, a playground and a trampoline. In a shady green alley there is a gorgeous waterfall that gives freshness and coolness in the summer heat.
The current city snow-white mosque, built in 1231 by the Ottoman ruler Sultan Aladdin Keykubat the First, visible from all corners of the area, has an attractive architectural design with four minarets and silver domes.
The Sharavsa caravanserai, built in the 13th century, has a long hall with a fireplace and well-shaped rooms. Here you can enjoy costumed oriental performances with historical decorations and the participation of camels and donkeys. The most exciting of these shows is “Turkish Night”, for which many travelers come here.
The central square with a beautiful clock tower 15 meters high, framed by benches near a fountain and a sculpture in the form of horses forming an arch, although a new building, is also an attractive place that looks even more impressive in the evening thanks to the beautiful lighting.
All four attractions are located within walking distance; you don’t need transport to walk around Konakli. And for visiting other attractions of Alanya and the Anatolian region, the transport system is very well developed. The road connecting the regions of Antalya passes through Konakli, and you can travel in any direction throughout Turkey. So, in 15 minutes you will reach the center of Alanya with its active resort vibe, many attractions and shopping areas.
Konakli itself also has plenty of retail outlets for a pleasant shopping experience. On Wednesdays, a noisy oriental bazaar is held here, where live trading takes place. There are also several large shopping centers in Konakli. The most popular is Megamall, where you can buy goods for every taste, including world and Turkish brands. Behind the city park is Basoglu Is Merkezi, an indoor clothing market, and for everyday shopping, Turkish markets MM Migros, A101 and BIM are located along Ataturk Street.
In summer, Konakli is more active, thanks to tourists visiting coastal hotels for relaxation by the sea. But even in winter the town does not die out; a calm, measured life continues here with all the benefits of civilization in the bosom of healing nature.
